We are proud to announce that the highlight event of the Operosa Montenegro Opera Festival 2018 will be the premiere performance of the opera "Carmen" by French composer Georges Bizet.
Carmen (Carmencita) is a French opera by Georges Bizet composed in 1875. Libretto was written by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy based on the novel by Prosper Merimee 'Carmen'. The story takes place in Spain in the year of 1820, in the city of Seville and the surrounding mountains.
The dark world of factory workers, smugglers, lovers and losers has made it one of the ten most popular operas in the world. Behind this intense story, characters openly show strong passion, blind love, jealousy, defiance and anger. The composer constantly revised the end to boost action and tension.
