Rossini, Salmieri and the hard-working cast made this, in the end, a jolly and highly entertaining evening. Operosa has worthy aims, is dedicated to its young singers, and has found itself rather a fine spot to continue its endeavors.

Purpose & Aim
Operosa is a classical music and opera festival, and academia founded by Finnish mezzo soprano Katherine Haataja in 2006. Operosa promotes young opera talent and contemporary interpretation to a modern audience. The aim of Operosa is to focus on repertoire ideally suited for young opera singers while working with leading international guest artistic directors and showcasing opera as a modern form of art and entertainment.
History
Operosa is active in Montenegro, Serbia and Bulgaria, with Festival performances and Academia courses jointly offering young artists opportunities in their artistic development. A wealth of Operosa events have been held over the years all over the Balkan region including the Evxinograd castle grounds in Varna and the Ivan Vazov National Theater in Sofia in Bulgaria, the Dom Omladine theater and at the Ilija M. Kolarac Endowment in Belgrade in Serbia, as well as across Montenegro, where the historical Old Town fortresses in the town of Herceg Novi on the Adriatic coast are home to Operosa Montenegro Opera Festival.


Operosa Montenegro Opera Festival
The annual summer festival features exciting international co-productions and guest performances as well as opera productions and concerts, created and performed by emerging talent and renowned professionals. Operosa Montenegro Opera Festival has been awarded the EFFE label of European Festivals since 2015 and the stunning open-air venues of the Kanli Kula and Forte Mare fortresses, with breathtaking sea views, attract audiences and media from all over the world.
Operosa Academia
Operosa Academia is a program for young artists and professionals to gain important direction in their careers within the performing arts. The Academia guests have included world class opera stars such as American mezzo soprano Jennifer Larmore, Bulgarian soprano Darina Takova and Serbian alto Marijana Mijanovic. Additionally, to offering masterclasses, workshops and studio productions, the Academia also regularly awards stipends to selected young artists through the Operosa Incentive. Broadening the extent of opportunities for young artists, Operosa has been a proud member of enoa since 2015. Thirteen European member opera institutions, over a thousand young artists and some three hundred professionals make up the enoa community.
