Vesna Markovic

Was born in february 28.1992, in Zrenjanin, Serbia. She graduated at the Faculty of music arts in Belgrade, classical singing department, in the class of Professor Ljudmila Gros Popovic, Bachlor (2015) and Master (2016).
During her education, she participated in a number of competitions and she won 1st prize and the award for the most beautiful voice at the international competition “Bruna Spiler” in Montenegro (2011) and 1st prize at the international competition “Nikola Cvejic” in Serbia (2014). Faculty of music arts awarded her as the student with the higest score in major subject (2016).
Her stage debut was in Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas” in National Theatre in Belgrade with the role of Belinda (2013). Year after, she sang in Monteverdi’s “The Coronation of Poppea” the role od Drusilla, in Opera and Theatre “Madlenianum” in Belgrade. Both operas was conducted by maestro Predrag Gosta (Serbia/SAD) and artistic leadership was famous baroque singer Marijana Mijanovic.
As a prat of The National Theatre’s opera studio in Belgrade (2015/16;2016/17) she worked with serbian conductors and stage directors, very soon she started to sing smaller roles, and cover for the biger one in current opera’s repertoire - Nella (Gianni Schicchi), First Lady (Die Zauberflote), Voce dal cielo (Don Carlos) and Adele (Die Fledermaus).
On the occasion of celebration The Year of Prokofiev (2016) she sang the title role in Prokofiev’s one-act opera “Maddalena” in Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Belgrade.
Vesna debuted with great success as Musetta (La Boheme) in the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad (2017) conducted by italian maestro Gianluca Marciano.
She was several times a guest at the concert of Zrenjanin philharmonic orchestra and she sang in the most prestigious concert halls in Belgrade as are Kolarac, Gvarnerius, Crystal Hall at the home of the army and City Hall of Belgrade.
She also was a guest in Zeljko Lucic’s concert “Zeljko Lucic and Friends” in Zrenjanin (2015).
Her repertoire includes: Frasquita (Carmen), Nella/Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), First Lady/Pamina (Die Zauberflote), Berta (Il Barbiere di Sivigla), Oscar (Un Ballo in Maschera), Voce dal cielo (Don Carlos), Adele (Die Fledermaus), Gilda (Rigoletto), Belinda (Dido and Aeneas), Drusilla (The Coronation of Poppea), Musetta (La Boheme), Maddalena (Maddalena) and Laura/Iolanta (Iolanata).
