Arijana Marić Gigliani


She was born 1979. in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina). Primary and High School classes she graduated on violin and solo singing programs, also in Sarajevo.
Since her youngest ages she performs Children's roles in operas “Carmen“ and scenic cantata “Carmina Burana“.
Her first role was in the child's opera "The Little Sweep“ by B. Britten on the National Theatre in Sarajevo.
She has begun the study of solo singing (drama sopran) at the Music Academy in Zagreb. She graduated with Merit and received her MA from Academy in 2005. in the class of professor Lidija Horvat – Dunjko. After the study, Arijana continues her perfecting and specializing with the renowned singing pedagogue and opera champion Bulgarian tenor Stojan Stojanov Gančev

She performed a series solist concerts throughout Croatia (Zagreb, Rijeka, Dubrovnik,Pula, Split,Osijek, Križevci and many other places), and also in some foreign countries (Austria, Germany, Chech Republic and BiH).
During her career, she made a number of successful concerts with the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra 2007 , Dubrovnik Symphonic Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra Zagreb Soloists, Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra of the Opera House in Osijek.
She made a several recording sessions for the HRT (Croatian National TV and Radio) archives.
During the season 2005./2006. Arijana made an extremely successful debut in the opera ''Nikola Šubić-Zrinski'' (by Ivan pl. Zajc), on the personage of ''Jelena'', in the National Theatre in Sarajevo.
In the theatre of 'Ivan pl. Zajc' in Rijeka she made a few exquisitely successful perfomances by whom she acquired excellent critics as those in the operas of G. Verdi ''Macbeth'', (it was the premiere perfomance after 156 years inducted in Rijeka), and in the opera ''Il Barbiere di Seviglia'' by G. Rossini.
She cooperated as a solist singer with many prominent conductors as Vjekoslav Šutej, Nikša Bareza, Nada Matošević, Julio Marić, Ognjen Bomoštar, Dario Vučić and others.
Regularly she makes appearances as a solist in a several significant National Theatres throughout Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. She was awarded with the first Award on the International Singing Competitions in Belgrade (Serbia) in 2009, then in 2010. Arijana won another first award on the International Singing Competition “Bruna Špiler” in Herceg Novi (Montenegro).
She does and pedagogical work at the Music Higher Class school ''Albert Štriga'' in Križevci and the Music Higher Class school „Brkanović“ in Zagreb where she made astonishing pedagogical results and a number of awards.
