Singer/Soprano

Mayan recently graduated with a Master's of Music degree from the Brooklyn College Conservatory, where she studied with Ms. Patricia McCaffrey.


Nowadays Mayan divides her time between Israel and Germany and is looking forward to her role debut as Drusilla in the Thessaloniki Opera Festival's production of L'incoronazione di Poppea.
Some of her recent engagements include her role debut as Constance in Poulenc's Dialogues des Carmelites, concerts as a soloist in the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg Festival, a concert as a soloist with the Preußisches Kammerorchester, Prenzlau and her role debut of Despina in Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte with the Dublin Opera Studio. Over the summer of 2016, Mayan has reprised the role of the Dew Fairy in Humperdinck's Hansel und Gretel at the Oslo opera house as part of the LidalNorth program, as well as excerpts of Massenet's Cendrillon, in which she sang the title role.

In the years spent pursuing her degrees both in New York and Israel (M.Mus. and B.Mus., respectively), Mayan performed roles such as Suor Genovieffa in Suor Angelica (Puccini), Madama Cortese in Il Viaggio a Reims (Rossini), Annina in La Traviata (Verdi), Beth in The Tender Land (Copland), Zerlina in Don Giovanni (Mozart), Amor in Orfeo ed Euridice(Gluck), and Sandman and Dew Fairy in Hänsel und Gretel (Humperdinck). In concert repertoire she performed the soprano solo in Poulenc's Gloria with the BMSM Oratorio Choir, the soprano solo in Vaughan Williams' Serenade to Music, was featured as
a soloist in a Latin American Baroque concert with the Brooklyn College Conservatory Singers and with the BMSM orchestra in a selection of songs from Mahler's Des Knaben Wunderhorn. Mayan is also an avid singer of art songs and has performed regularly from 2009 to this day in both solo and chamber recitals in Felicja Blumental Hall in Tel Aviv, as well as in the BMSM concert series.

As part of her training Mayan has participated in numerous international masterclasses such as Balance Arts Opera Berlin (2017), The Berlin Song Festival (2017), LidalNorth Oslo (2016, 2014) and Songfest at Colburn (2015) to name a few. She is also a winner of the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg competition (2017), the Berlin Song Festival Merit Scholarship (2017), the Brooklyn College Performance Award (2015), the Brooklyn College Theater Award (2014), 1st prize winner of the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music annual vocal competition (2013), the Buchman-Heimann Scholarship (2010) and the American Israeli Foundation Excellence Scholarship (2008).
