Dara Savinova



Mezzo-soprano Dara Savinova was born in Tallinn, Estonia. She completed her bachelor’s degree in singing with Elisabeth Wilke and a master's degree in music theatre at Salzburg's Mozarteum University.

Dara Savinova is the winner of Olga Sosnovskaya International Young Vocalists Contest (Grand Prix in 2004), the International Competition for Young Opera Singers in Kohtla-Järve, Estonia (1st Prize in 2005), International Singing Competition in Kaunas, Lithuania (2nd Prize in 2006), II International Competition of Opera Arias in Karpacz, Poland (2nd Prize in 2007), 17th International Competition for opera singers Ferruccio Tagliavini (Finalist in 2011)
and The 9th Klaudia Taev Competition (Estonia)- Special prize (The best estonian singer)
She was taking part in masterclasses with Dmitri Vdovin, Paolo de Napoli, Francisco Araiza, Fabio Luisi, Brigitte Fassbänder, Christa Ludwig, Teodor Currentzis, Irina Gavrilovici, Helmut Deutsch, etc.

During the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons Dara was a member of the Zurich International Opera Studio. Her operatic repertoire include performances as; Olga in Eugene Onegin, Galatea in Handel's Aci, Galatea e Polifemo, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro (Universität Mozarteum Salzburg Opernstudio), Paggio della Duchessa in Rigoletto, Lehrbub in Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Fisherwoman in Peter Grimes, Prinzessin in Iris ter Shiphorst Die Gaensemand, Bess in F.Schwemmer's Robin Hood. 
In the 2015/16 season she appeared as the Second Lady in Die Zauberflöte at the Basel Theatre.
Dara was a participant in the 2015 Salzburg Festival's Young Singers Project. In 2016 she was participant of Glyndebourne Festival in England. At the moment she in living in Austria, Vienna - giving a lot of solo concerts (Recitals).In May 2017 she is singing main role (L’enfant) in “L’Enfant et les Sortileges” in the Opera house Zurich/Theater Wintertur. In the summer 2017 you could hear Dara Savinova in the Bregenzer Festspiele in the new production of “Mose in Egitto” by G.Rossini (role Amenofi).
In December 2017 she will make her debut in Versaille in semi-staged production “Carmen” by G.Bizet, she will be performing title role (conductor Jean-Christophe Spinosi)
