Mezzosoprano, Bulgaria
Educated at the Academy of Music. B.A. Graduated - 1998,
MA. Graduated - 2000 studies under Prof. Irena Brambarova.
Further study in Rome, specialization in “belcanto” under Prof. Anita Cerquetti.
National Opera House : as a student - professional stage debut in role of Haensel in Humperdink’ “Haensel und Gretel (1998).
Other operatic roles for the National Opera include:
Cherubino in Mozart’ “Le nozze di Figaro”, Siebel in Gounod’ “Faust”, Dorothy in Harold Arlen’ “The Wizard of Oz”, Pinocchio in Yossifov’ “Pinocchio”, Zulma in Rossini’ “L’Italiana in Algeri”,
Nicklas in Offenbach’ “Les contes d’Hoffman”, the Fox in Janacek’ “The cunning little vixen”, Garcia in Massenet’ “Don Quichotte”,
Roles on other stages :
Dorabella in Mozart’ “Cosi fan tutte”, Amadigi in Handel’ “Amadigi di Gaula”, Sonyetka in Shostakovich’ “Katerina Izmailova”, Stephano in Gounod' “Romeo and Juliette”.
A good chamber music performer, Rossitsa has given recitals with classic and modern songs by German, Italian, French, Russian composers , Bulgarian vocal music, as well as contemporary English and American authors.
She has taken part in concerts and recording for the Sofia Philharmonic orchestra, the National Radio Big Band and Symphonic orchestra in cantata oratorio genre etc.
Special awards: 1997 – Award of ARD TV at the National competition “Georgi Zlatev Cherkin”, 1998 – National competition “Svetoslav Obretenov”, 2001 – National competition “Hristo Brambarov”, 2008 - National competition “ New Voices ” final round .
