GABRIELE GRECO, born in 1986, started his piano studies at the Nino Rota Conservatory of Music in Monopoli (Italy), where he graduated, under the guidance of Roberto De Leonardis, in 2005.
He took part in various master classes of well-known pianists, such as Pierluigi Camicia, Aldo Ciccolini, Benedetto Lupo, Joaquín Soriano, Andrea Lucchesini, Nelson Delle Vigne, Riccardo Risaliti, Paolo Bordoni, Cristiano Burato and Arnaldo Cohen.
In 2008 he got the First Level Master’s degree in musical disciplines – high proficiency course in repertoire for solo instrument and orchestra – at the Monopoli Conservatory of Music. Moreover, he studied with Pietro De Maria and successfully completed the special proficiency course at the “Scuola di Musica di Fiesole”, in Maria Tipo’s class.

He won prizes in piano and chamber music competitions in various Italian cities, among these Osimo, Barletta, Bari, Lamezia Terme, Monopoli and he took part in the “National Prize of Arts – 2004 edition”, organized by the Italian Department for Education, coming out as winner in chamber music category, with the clarinettist Francesco Notarangelo. Thanks to this contest, he recorded A. Berg’s Vier Stücke op. 5 and F. Poulenc’s Sonata for clarinet and piano.

In 2002 he played J. S. Bach’s Double Concertos BWV 1060 and BWV 1062 with the Monopoli Conservatory String Orchestra and, in 2003, he performed at the prestigious Scarlatti Hall of the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory of Music in Naples, playing music by Mario Pilati.
He played, in November 2005, W. A. Mozart’s Piano Concerto KV 466, with the Monopoli Conservatory Symphony Orchestra and Michele Cellaro conducting.
In 2008 he performed as soloist with the Magna Grecia Symphony Orchestra in L. Van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.1 and S. Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.2, respectively under the baton of Alfredo Luigi Cornacchia and Nicola Ventrella.
In 2009 he took part in the “Mendelssohn Marathon”, organized by the “Scuola di Musica di Fiesole”, in collaboration with the Ferruccio Busoni Musical Studies Centre and he played at the “Auditorium al Duomo” in Florence, for the Romualdo Del Bianco Foundation.
He performed during the Dino Ciani Musical Association “International Festivals”, yearly held in Stresa and Venice.
Recently, he’s been invited to play at Palazzo Pitti in Florence for the “Bramhs Marathon”, organized by the “Scuola di Musica di Fiesole”.
