Holly Slater


Holly Slater is a welsh mezzo-soprano who completed undergraduate degrees in Comparative Literature at King’s College, London University and Music & History at The Open University, where she achieved first class honours. Holly’s recent operatic roles include: Barbarina in Ensemble Orquesta’s production of Le Nozze di Figaro, and 1st Witch in Dido and Aeneas also with Ensemble OrQuesta. Her recent roles include: Dorothee in Cendrillon, Carmella in The Saint of Bleecker Street, and Marzelline in Fidelio with Morley Opera School, 1st Lady in The Crane which was premiered at Grimeborn Festival, cover for Ilia in Rose Opera’s production of Idomeneo, and 2nd Niece in Opera’r Ddraig’s production of Peter Grimes.

Holly has been singing on the professional church circuit in London for several years, she currently sings at Christchurch Chelsea, and holds a choral scholarship with Chiswick Choral Society. Holly has recently recorded with The Chapel Choir of Girton College, Cambridge University performing with historic brass from The Royal Academy of Music. Holly also performs with early music trio Dixi Ensemble, with performances including the Hear It Live! young artist programme at The Horniman Museum and Gardens and The National Army Museum. Holly currently studies with John Lattimore, Sam Queen and Mary Bevan. .
