Singer/Soprano

Holly Slater studied singing at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance, before completing undergraduate degrees in Comparative Literature (at King’s College, London) and Music & History (with The Open University), for which she achieved first-class honours. Holly's recent roles include Hanna(Die Lustige Witwe), Norina (Don Pasquale), and Lisette (La Rondine) with Morley College Opera. She has previously sung the role of Despina (Cosi Fan Tutte), and Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro) with Canary Wharf Pop-Up Opera. She also sung the role of Rose Maybud (Ruddigore) with New London Opera Group, and Amore (L'incoronzione di Poppea) with Incagliati Opera Group. Holly has worked professionally as a soloist on the oratorio and recital platform, having sung soprano solos in Mozart’s Requiem (as well as in several of his church masses), Haydn’s Harmoniemesse and Nelson Mass, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Beethoven’s Mass in C, and Handel's Joshua. Holly has also sung with the Chapel Choir of Girton College, Cambridge University, having performed with historic brass from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama on a recording of music by Orlando Lassus. More recently, she has sung as part of a a voice and brass ensemble comprising performers from Cambridge University and The Royal Academy of Music on a tour of Portugal, which culminated in a recording of Portuguese Renaissance polyphony. Holly has extensive consort experience having previously sung with the performance-based consorts Lyra Singers and Dixi Ensemble.
