Elena Tasevska

Singer/Mezzo

Elena Tasevska was born in 1995 in Skopje, Macedonia. At the age of eight she began to take music lessons at the State School of Music and Ballet "Ilija Nikolovski Luj" in Skopje, where she discovered her love for vocal music as a member of the children's choir "Piccolo". Her highschool education was at the same music centre, with singing as a main subject under the direction of Prof. Dr. Svetlana Donkovska from 2009 to 2013. During this time, she participated in numerous concerts at the school and began to sing as a soloist and choir member in the choirs "Mois Hason", "Saint Zlata of Meglen" and "France Preseren". During her training she was chosen by the conductor Tomislav Shopov for the scenic-musical production "Vasovalci" for the role of Maricka. This increased her interest in working on stage and encouraged her to apply to the Faculty of Music Arts of the University of St. Cyril and Methodius, where she studied singing from 2013 to 2017. She graduated in the class of Prof. Dr. Vesna Ginovska Ilkova with a Bachelor´s degree in singing. During her studies, she regularly took part in many concerts and projects and was a soloist and choir singer in "Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary" (choir at this church) and "Dragan Suplevski." While still a student, she sang at the Macedonian Opera and Ballet in Skopje in 2016 and 2017 as Filipjevna in "Eugene Onegin" and Mamma Lucia in "Cavalleria Rusticana". Since October 2018 she is a student of Master of Opera Singing at the HMDK Stuttgart under the direction of Prof. Ulrike Sonntag and is active in Germany as a concert and opera singer.
