Singer/Soprano

Sofia Tsimbal was born in Samara, Russia in 1996. In 2012 She graduated from the choral, theatrical and choreographic department of the primary music school in St. Petersburg. In 2016 she honors degree in vocal at the St. Petersburg Music College N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov. In 2016 she entered the Russian Academy of Theater Arts in the Faculty of Musical Theater. At the present time she is a student of the Third course in Academy. speaks three languages ​​- English, Italian, German.

In 2007 and 2009- the Laureate of the International Youth Vocal Competition of Sergey Leiferkus “We sing opera!”;

In 2011- the winner of the International Vocal Competition of Olga Bunder in Kohtla-Järve (Estonia);
Winner of the Grand Prix of the X Open Vocal Contest “Romance of Tremulous Sounds” (Gatchina);

In 2012- the winner of the International Children's Vocal Competition of Elena Obraztsova (St. Petersburg);
The winner of the International Competition of Olga Sosnovskaya (Syktyvkar);
Winner of the VI International Festival-Competition "Window to Europe" (St. Petersburg)

In 2014-2016 she was the trainee at the Mikhailovsky Theater opera troupe, took part in the premiere productions of the Tsar's Bride operas by N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov (conducted by Michael Tatarnikov); Humperdink "Hansel and Gretel" (conductor V. Bogdanov).

While studying at the music college took part in the concert performances of “The Golden Cockerel” by N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov (Shemakha Tsarina); “Ruslan and Lyudmila” (Lyudmila); on the stage of the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theater performed Elena’s Bolero from the opera G. Verdi "Sicilian Vespers"with the Symphony Orchestra Named by A. Paulavicius (conductor A Vasiliev). In the concert of Contest Winners E. Obraztsova sang on the stage of the Moscow ‘s Conservatory great hall with a symphony orchestra conducted by A. Petukhov; at the stage of Tchaikovsky Consert hall (conductor M. Antonenko); by the invitation of the Charitable Foundation Vladimir Spivakova, she took part in subscription concerts of the Moscow State Philharmonic, in the Zaryadye concert hall.

In 2017 she took part in a concert established by the Elena Obraztsova Foundation at the World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi (conducted by A. Sladkovsky).

Sofia is the Winner of the “Hope” Award established by the Elena Obraztsova Foundation, a winner of the Russian Standard Charitable Foundation; winner of the "Best Graduate 2016" award; nominee of the St. Petersburg Government Prize for creative youth.
She took an active part in master classes of Elena Obraztsova, Tamara Sinyavskaya, Larisa Gergieva, Marina Shaguch, O. Makarina and J. Sabbatini.
