Irina Bedicova showed her talent in performing arts quite early. At the age of six she started playing piano and singing in the choir. In her native country Moldova she was taught the secrets of piano by Valentina Buchkovskaya at the School of Music “George Enescu”. Later on she further developed her skills in Greece with Olga Giahiopoulou and obtained her diploma in piano by the Apollonion Odeion (Conservatoire) of Athens with an excellent mark. Among others,
Irina took guitar lessons with Giorgos Bechlivanoglou and singing lessons with the ex-soloist of The Greek National Opera Katerina Apostolakis. Instructors Natascha Morsink and Rita Dams prepared her for the successful entrance examination in the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, where Irina has completed her vocal studies with Gerda van Zelm and the baritone Andrew Schroeder. In the Netherlands Irina attended piano lessons with Hanna Shybayeva and Marcel Baudet.
Irina never misses a chance to express her love for singing. Her first solo performance was at the age of eight when she performed a piece for a children choir and a soloist called “Concert Rehearsal” by Mozart. While in Greece, she was performing with the Greek composer Vasilis Dellios, works such as arrangements of folk songs, musicals and big choir works. She have been performing with the Opera Mosset in France two successive summers. In 2011 in the Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas” she played the second witch and the sailor. This production was a part of the Festival été 66 – France. In the production of 2012 with the opera “La Belle Hélène” of Jacques Offenbach she had the role of Leana. Irina has participated in the productions of the Dutch National Opera Academy: Donizetti’s “L’elisir d’amore” and Mozart’s “Le nozze di Figaro”. At the moment she is also working for the Stichting Memorabele Momenten (MEMO), performing for children in The Hague.
Besides music, Irina has studied Public Administration at the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences Athens. In her free time, Irina enjoys reading, photography and dancing.
