Vasa Stajkic – baritone ,was born in city of Novi Sad (Serbia) where he started his musical education in primary music school and high school “Isidor Bajic”. At first he studied as a horn player and at depertment of theory of music and later as student of vocal department with Milica Stojadinovic. After graduated in high school in vocal and theory department he went on studying on vocal department in Music Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and later in Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade in class of Violeta Pancetovic Radakovic.
In first few years he claimed several first prizes, audience prizes, and prizes for best male voice in competitions in Negotin (1997), international competition “ Petar Konjovic” in Belgrade (1998), “Nikola i Marica Cvejic” (1998,1999,2000) , “Obzorja na Tisi” (2000,2002), 3rd prize for interpretation of opera arias in the International Summer Academy Prague-Wien-Budapest held in Austria (2000)…Also he is awarded with annual prize of Serbian National Theatre for the role of Don Giovanni (2008).
From the year 2000. he signed a contract with Serbian National Theatre where he is regular soloist in next roles La Traviatta (G.Germont),Simon Boccanegra(Simon Boccanegra), Don Giovanni (Don Giovanni), Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Figaro), Madama Butterfly (Sharpless), La Boheme (Marcello), Lucia di Lammermoore (Lord Enrico Ashton),The Queen of Spades (Jeletsky),Faust (Valentin), Pagliacci (Silvio), L`elisir d`amore (Belcore), Die Fledermaus (Dr. Falke), Rissurrezione (Simonson Ivanovich), Ero the Joker (Sima), Carmina Burana (baritone solo)…
Also was a guest singer in theatre of Antonina Dvoraka in Ostrava (Czech Republic) 2008. and at Madlenianum theatre (Serbia) in 2012/13.
He is also performing as a soloist for Symphonic orchestra of Serbian Radio and Televison (RTS).
He worked with many conducters such as Ion Iancu, Alexander Annissimov ,Oliver Dohnanyi ,Giampaolo Maria Bisanti, Marco Parisotto, Mladen Jagušt, Imre Toplak, Miodrag Janoski, Zoran Juranić, Bojan Suđić, Željka Milanović,Dejan Savic,Aleksandar Kojic, Stanko Jovanovic…
