Singer/Soprano

Milla Ognyanova Mihova- soprano

Born in Sofia on 01.06.1987.
Started attending piano lessons at the age of 5.
Speaks fluent English and Italian. Medium level of Russian. Basic knowledge in French and Portuguese.
Graduated from highschool in 2006 and eversince has been studying singing with the Bulgarian soprano Darina Takova.
In 2008 got accepted in the National Academy of Music “Prof. Pantcho Vladigerov”. In 2012 finished her Bachelor degree in NAM, with a State exam in singing and acting.
Has performed as The Fire, The Princess and the Nightingale in “L’enfant et les sortileges” by Maurice Ravel at the National Opera a Ballet in Sofia. In April/October 2013 won a scholarship from the “Boris Christoff” Foundation for the Opera Studio at the National Academy “Santa Cecilia” in Rome, where she specialized with Renata Scotto, vocal coach Anna Vandi and stage arts coach Cesare Scarton, and performed Konstanze’s “Martern Aller Arten” from W.A.Mozart’s “Die Entführung aus dem Serail” at the gala concert of the participants in the Opera Studio.
In November 2013 took part in a Verdi/Wagner masterclass with soprano Darina Takova in Sofia, working on the role of Gilda in Verdi’s “Rigoletto”.
In July 2014 took part in the International Summer Art Academy in Sozopol Bulgaria, in a masterclass with soprano Darina Takova working on the role of Lucia in Donizetti’s “Lucia di Lammermoor”.

First Prize at the 2nd Academic competition “Parashkev Hadzhiev” in Sofia, Bulgaria 2012.
Finalist at the International Competition “Magda Olivero” in Milan, Italy 2013
Finalist at the International Competition “Giulio Neri” in Torrita di Siena, Italy 2014
First Prize at the International Competition “The Euterpe Rose” in Karlovo, Bulgaria 2014
In 2015 recorded vocals for the music from the theatrical production "QUARTET" at the National Palace of Culture, Sofia
Participated in the International Masterclass of the Italian bass Carlo Colombara in Sofia, Bulgaria
Repertoire: Arias and duets from operas by Handel, Mozart, Donizetti, Rossini, Bellini, Verdi, Gounod, Massenet, Ravel, Puccini and oratorical pieces by Handel and Vivaldi.
