The Operosa Forum is dedicated to promoting dynamic classical music and opera talent

Iva Profaca, mezzosoprano, ended her basic and postgraduated studies at the department for solo singing at the Faculty of Music Art in her native Belgrade within the class of professor Aneta Ilic. She attended courses of early music by tenor Nigel Rogers (Great Britain), tenor Peter Maus (Germany) in Berlin, soprano Lydia Firlinger (Austria) and master class at renowned soprano Eva Marton (Hungary) in Vienna, within the Summer Academy Prague-Vienna-Budapest 2008, which scholarship was granted to her.

She is the winner of many awards from which the following should be mentioned: two First prizes at the solo singers competition ,,Lazar Jovanović" in Belgrade in 2007 and 2008, the award Anita Mezetova for the most perspective student in 2008, and the award of Biserka Cvejić fund in 2009.

Iva Profaca started her solo concert carrier already as a student at the Faculty of Music Art (FMA) performing with many vocal and instrumental ensambles such as Madrigal Choir of FMA, choir ,,Collegium Musicum", choir ,,Canticum Novum", choir ,,Baruch Brothers" still a permament solo, with the Symphonic Orchestra of the city of Niš, Symphonic Orchestra of FMA, Artistic Ensamble ,,Stanislav Binički", orchestra ,,Camerata Academica" from Novi Sad, Symphonic Orchestra of the National Theatre in Belgrade, orchestra ,,Royal Strings of St. George".

She interpreted most diverse vocal and vocal-instrumental parts in the sense of style and genre of Serbian, Jewish and world renowned composers (Vivaldi, Bach, Handel, Pergolesi, Mozart, Bernstein, Mahler, Vujić...).

Among the most important guesting and festivals it is impotant to mention: ,,Tisa flower" in Novi Knjaževac", 17th ,,Josifa Marinkovića Days", ,,Tisa Horisons" in Novi Bečej, European Days of Jewish Culture, ,,Steglitz Days of Early Music" in Berlin, opening of 42th BEMUS (Belgrade Music Festivity) with the opera 'Le nozze di Figaro' by W. A. Mozart, produced by the National Theatre of Belgrade, the season opening in Serbian Cultural Centre in Copenhagen (Denmark) organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, a concert in the famous 'Verdi' theatre in Trieste etc.

Within the project European Opera Cooperation 2007, concerning the marking of 400 years of the creation of the Monteverdi' s ,'Orpheus' at the Royal Theatre in Cetinje, she interpreted the role of Eurydice, under the guidance of the conductor Egon Mihajlović, as well as the role of Valetto in the ,'Conoration of Poppea' opera.

After the completion the Borislav Popović Opera Studio, with the National Theatre in Belgrade, where she played the role of Charlotte from the Massenet' s ,'Werther', since May 2010 she is engagedas a soloist on main stage where she plays the roles within the official repertoire: Alice in 'Lucia di Lammermoore' by G. Donizetti, Cherubino in 'Le nozze di Figaro' by W. A. Mozart, Smeraldine in 'L' amour des trois oranges' by S. Prokofiev, Dangeville in 'Adriana Lecouvreur' by F. Cilea, Mercedes in 'Carmen' by G. Bizet, etc. She collaborated with renowned domestic and foreign directors such as Borislav Popović, Gordan Dragović, Jagoš Marković, Nebojša Bradić, Stefan Sablić, Božidar Đurović, Thomas Zipf (Germany), John Ramster (Great Britain), Oscar award winner Jiri Menzel (Czech Republic), Martin Lloyd Evans (Great Britain) and also with renowned conductors suc as Bojan Suđić, Aleksandar S. Vujić, Darinka Matić Marović, Premil Petrović, Srboljub Dinić, Vladimir Kranjčević (Croatia), Johannes Harneit (Austria), David Pocelijn (Holland), Muhai Tang (China), Eraldo Salmieri (Italy) etc.

In the production of Chamber opera Madlenianum she was engaged in opera 'Angelique' by J. Ibert, and also interpreted the role of Kate Pinkerton in 'Madama Butterfly' by G. Puccini, in which she appeared side by side with the world headliners of today, soprano Daniela Dessi and tenore Fabio Armiliato.

During the concert season 2013/ 2014. of the Belgade Phillharmonic Orchestra, Iva Profaca appeared in the role of Mary in R. Wagner' s 'Flying Dutchman', marking the 200 years of the composer' s birth, in concert performance.
