Singer/Soprano

Soprano Joanne McGahon trained with English National Opera and the National Opera Studio and was awarded “The Voice of North London” resulting in a star performance at Trent Park’s Open Air Classical Prom. Joanne regularly performs as oratorio soloist for various choirs and orchestras most recently singing Haydn’s Nelson Mass at St. Bartholomew’s Great Hall with St. Bart’s Academic Festival Chorus as well as works such as Bach’s B Minor Mass and Fanshawe’s African Sanctus with St. Mary’s Chamber Choir (conductor Richard Morrison). Solo appearances include The Brighton Dome, Hendon RAF Museum, Hackney Empire and St. Paul’s Cathedral and Joanne has performed regularly at the Watford Coliseum and Alban Arena for Adoramus Choir and Orchestra.
International performance highlights include: launching the Festival Internazionale del Teatro Romano, Italy; Odescalchi Castle - Lake Bracciano; Coutances and Bayeaux Cathedral; Cathedrale Notre-Dame, and tours of New York, Sweden and Turkey.
Joanne has performed live on BBC Radio 4 Sunday Worship and as a recording artist she has featured on television and film soundtracks, most recently releasing her debut classical album “Laudate Dominum” featuring Jack Liebeck on violin.
Joanne is the official opera singer for Absolute Radio singing for their London Olympic celebrations as well as the National Anthem for their Charity Football match at Charlton Athletic. Joanne’s versatility results in regular corporate opera recitals as well as requests for performances of Broadway musical classics, light opera and contemporary worship music.
Joanne can be found opera singing in the lower courtyard in Covent Garden and recently has been working for the charity “Lost Chord” singing and providing music therapy to Alzheimer and dementia sufferers.
