Ana Torbica

Singer/Soprano

A young and perspective musician, Ana Torbica, started her musical education with playing the violin and singing in the children’s choir of Radio-Television of Serbia when she was just seven years old. After finishing her secondary music education at “Dr. Vojislav Vuckovic” Music School in Belgrade, she continued her studies at the department of solo singing at the Faculty of Arts in Nis, where she received her undergraduate degree. During her studies, she has performed in many concerts, festivals and competitions, where she won numerous prizes, especially in the categories of chamber music and singing. She has attended master classes and workshops with eminent music experts and artists such as Thomas Hampson, Marijana Mijanovic, Darina Takova, Ottaviano Tenerani, Renata Pokupić, Ljudmila Gros-Popović, and Predrag Gosta. Her interests, especially in the historical performance practice, she developed through the work in the Baroque Academy in Belgrade. While she has growing up with two musician parents (her mother is the concertmaster of the National Theatre in Belgrade and her father is the first trombonist in the same orchestra), Ana had a rare privilege to be constantly surrounded by art and music, so her interests also include dance and other theatrical branches. She is also passionate about sport and especially like swimming and riding a bicycle.
