Singer/Baritone

Young and promising baritone Andrejs Krutojs was born in Riga, Latvia.
Has studied singing at Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with prof. Mati Palm (BMus), continuing his development at Sibelius Academy, Finland (class of dots. Annika Ollinkari) and Conservatorio di musica “Santa Cecilia”, Italy (class of prof. Anna Maria Ferrante). Participated in masterclasses with some of the world’s greatest professionals like Jorma Hynninen (Finland, 2013), Montserrat Caballe (Spain, 2015) and director Peter Konwitschny (Estonia, 2014).
Andrejs Krutojs made his operatic debut at the age of 22 at Estonian National Opera (count Robinson in D.Cimarosa’s “Il matrimonio segreto”), returning to the same stage to make an appearance as Belcore in G.Donizetti’s “L’elisir d’amore” in 2015 with a significant success.
Other repertoire includes the roles of Tchaikovsky’s Onegin (“Evgeny Onegin”) and Yeletsky (“The Queen of Spades”), Leoncavallo’s Silvio (“I pagliacci”), bass solo in Beethoven’s 9th symphony, baritone solo in Orff’s “Carmina Burana”, Bach cantata “Ich habe genug” and Lied repertoire, performed successfully in Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Germany and Italy.
