Singer/Baritone

Born in Lausanne, Antoine Bernheim has studied singing in Geneva with Nicole Buloze, Franz Petri and Gloria Davy and worked in masterclasses with José van Dam, Régine Crespin, Sena Jurinac, Giacomo Aragall, Thomas Quasthoff, Leontina Vaduva, Leo Nucci, Michele Pertusi, Cheryl Studer, Annick Massis, Franck Ferrari and Christa Ludwig. In 1989 he sings Count Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro) under the stage direction of Gabriel Bacquier. He is then chosen by the swiss composer Claude Yvoire to record the baritone solo part for the recording of his cantata “Gloria Sepharadica”. In 1994 Antoine Bernheim sings in Sion Don Alfonso (Cosi fan tutte), and since then he has performed over 40 roles in various productions in Switzerland, France, Italy and Germany. Among these : Leporello (Don Giovanni), Bartolo (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), Gaudenzio (Il Signor Bruschino), Batone (L’Inganno Felice), Tobia Mill and Slook (La Cambiale di Matrimonio), Tiger Brown (Die Dreigrosschenoper), Marcello (La Bohème), Germano (La Scala di Seta), Mustafà (L'Italiana in Algeri), Sigismondo (Il Giovedi Grasso), Dandini (La Cenerentola), Abimelech (Samson et Dalila), Ferrando (Il Trovatore), Monterone (Rigoletto), the Mayor (Le Docteur Miracle), Papageno and Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte), Dulcamara and Belcore (L’Elisir d’Amore) as well as the title roles in Gluck's Cadi Dupé, Offenbach's Monsieur Choufleuri Donizetti's Don Pasquale de Donizetti, Puccini's Gianni Schicchi Verdi's Falstaff and Mozart's Noces de Figaro. Antoine Bernheim Has also won second prizes in the Concours International de Moirans and the Concorso Internazionale della Citta di Racconigi as well as the first prize in the Concorso Internazionale Pietro Sardelli in Rome.
