The activities of Nathalie Marin, French conductor, overarches both Europe and Latin America. From 2011 to 2013 she was artistic director of the National Symphonic Orchestra of Ecuador and from 1991 until 2010, she was artistic director of the orchestra Ensemble Orchestra de l’Isère (France). Additionally from 2005 to 2008, she directed the Music Festival “Pestacles” in Paris. Since 2006, she has been having a long collaboration with the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.
As guest conductor Nathalie Marin conducted the Brussels Philharmonic, Thuringen Symphony Orchestra (Germany), Nice Philharmonic, Cannes Symphonic Orchestra (France), Voralberg Symphony Orchestra (Austria), Symphony Orchestra of Chile, Mendoza Philharmonic Orchestra, Academy Orchestra of the Colon’s Theater (Argentina), Guanajuato University Symphonic Orchestra (Mexico), Albanian Radio & Television Orchestra, as well as in important theaters as in La Fenice (Venice, Italy), Shanghai (China), Bregenz Festspielhaus (Austria), and in India (Mumbai, Goa, Shandigarh, Kolkata,Bangalore, Madras, Pune).
Nathalie Marin dedicates part of her career to the lyric repertory, conducting Madama Butterfly, Tosca, Carmen with the Karkov Opera Orchestra , Le Nozze di Figaro and La Bohème with the Rusé Opera Orchestra (Bulgaria) on tour in France, “ Une regrettable histoire” by Georges Delerue with the Ensemble Orchestral de l’Isère, Cosi fan tutte with the “Pasdeloup Symphonic Orchestra” in Paris , Falstaff at the “Teatro Mancinelli” in Orvieto (Italy), Die Dreigroschenoper by Kurt Weill at the Livorno, Pisa and Lucca Theaters, Il canto dell’ amore trionfante by Paolo Coletta at the Coccia Theater in Novara (first world premiere).
Nathalie Marin has been assistant conductor of Maestro Michel Tabachnik from 1994 to 1999 in Scandinavia, Spain and Italy. In 1999 she obtained her conducting Master degree at the “Danish Royal Academy” in Copenhagen. During this period, she gave many concerts with the “Danish Royal Academy Symphonic Orchestra”, among which Empreintes by Iannis Xenakis was played in presence of the composer. In 1998 she was assistant conductor of the “Royal Danish Opera” in Copenhagen.
Nathalie Marin’s recordings include Serge Prokofiev’s Peter and the wolf and Camille Saint Saens’ Carnaval des animaux with the Ensemble Orchestral de l’Isère. Leading the National Symphonic Orchestra of Ecuador, she recorded music by Debussy, Ravel, Satie, and flamenco music with the guitar soloist Serge Lopez, Cuentos Ecuatorianos for children by E. Florencia, Divertimento by E. Guevara,concerto for oboe by B. Blauth.
