Alexey Mikhaylov was born in the city Ekaterinburg. Elementary music education was under the leadership of his father - Mikhaylov Anatoliy Aleksandrovich, a military musician. In the 13 years independently mastered the classical guitar, at the age of 18 game on the tenor saxophone. Acted in the school initiative and in an Amateur jazz orchestra at the Palace of culture (tenor saxophone, bass guitar, vocals).
In 2003 he made his debut on the Opera stage in the party Herman (the Opera «the Queen of spades», the Ekaterinburg Opera and ballet theatre). In 2004 took part in the Opera J.. Puccini's «La Boheme» and performed a party Rodolphe (magazine «Musical life» №7 in 2004. newspaper «Vecherny Yekaterinburg, no 68, dated April 13, 2004). In 2007 he made his debut on the stage of the Bashkir state theatre of Opera and ballet in the party Riccardo (Opera «UN Ballo in Maschera»). From 2007 to 2010, held an internship in the Opera class of people's artist of USSR, soloist of the Bolshoy Theater, Professor - Vladislav Pjavko.

Since February 2010 - the soloist of the Foundation of Irina Arkhipova. Participation in projects «Vladislav Pjavko and the company. The parade of tenors», «Opera - new generation».
2010 - 2011 - soloist of theater «New Opera».

From 2010 - Internship in the class of professor of accompaniment training Russian Academy of Music - Elena Strikovskii. Participation in the "Summary of the Opera", training German operatic roles, and Othello.
From 2012, freelance, In the repertoire of the Opera party:
